Asking for help is a sign of strength

Samantha Davis, LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about helping others. I received a Master’s degree from Plattsburgh State University, and since that time I’ve worked in a variety of treatment settings.  I have worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, providing individual psychotherapy as well as group therapy. I have spent the last seven years providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, and have been in private practice for the past four years.

I enjoy assisting individuals in processing their specific barriers or challenges, accessing their personal strengths, and achieving valued life goals. I utilize a holistic treatment approach in therapy, tailoring the therapeutic experience to the specific needs of each individual, couple, or family with whom I have the privilege of working.  I am passionate about partnering with clients to foster healing, self-discovery, and lasting positive changes in their lives.

I use a variety of treatment approaches and techniques

Some of which include:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of talk therapy for people who experience emotions very intensely. It’s a common therapy for people with borderline personality disorder, but therapists provide it for other mental health conditions as well.
